This was not the decision I would have made were I 'in charge', but partially because Ive found myself saying that all too much lately, I am not going to fight it too hard. I am tired of 'fighting the good fight' and yet not having any real say in the way things go down. We are going to try and still do the Razed in Black show on November 16th at club Envy, but if this happens, it will not be an Alchemy event, but a one-off gig, likely using only the Black/back room. We may do the Psyclon Nine gig there too, or may find an alternate venue, or may have to cancel it.. we'll see how things pan out over the next few days.
I realise that its not much time to spread the word ( I was personally pulling to stay open until the end of November, or the 16th at least) but please come out this Halloween to say goodbye to an event that we all have enjoyed over the years.
What does the future hold you ask? Where will we party from now on?? Well.. I can't say for sure. Hopefully someone will step up to the challange. However, We, the promoters of Alchemy, are pretty worn out, and will likely be going our seperate ways, or taking some downtime at least. I for one, will be focusing on the rebirth of deep6, booking and promoting live concerts.. And maybe booking more guest DJ gigs. Im not throwing in the towel entirely, thats for sure.. This scene is under my skin, and if it dies, it will have to take me with it.
